Regular meeting opened at 7:00

No Public comments.
 
Motion by LaLone supported by Jelinek to accept the minutes of February meeting. 
Motion carried.

Treasurer's report stands as read.

Motion by LaLone supported by Osburn to pay Township bills totaling $27364.78
 Motion carried.

Correspondence was read.

Department reports:
Ambulance: 26 Ambulance Annual Report 365
Steve Nallenweg reported on the accomplishments, trainings and goals for 2008 and 
discussed the new contract with the Township.
Motion by Sittig supported by Cummings to accept the Ambulance Contract of $6500.00 
per month for the first year and $7000.00 per month for the second and $7500.00 
for the 3rd and final year.Roll call

Building/ Mechanical:  0/0  

Fire: 3   Chief Flick gave the report on the department updates and asked to purchase 
an air-breathing compressor from Galien Township.
Motion by Jelinek supported by Cummings to purchase the air-breathing compressor for 
$750.00.

Motion carried

Motion by Sittig supported by LaLone to submit the ad for bids for the remodel upgrades 
to the fire station as submitted with the addition of an air condition for the kitchen 
to the South County Gazette for 2 weeks. Motion carried

The Board members presented plaques to 4 retired fire fighters, Jim Flick, Pat Matthewson, 
Billy Rudolph and Denny Beckman(not present) for their years of service.

Parks & Recreation- Nothing to report

Planning: the preliminary draft of the Zoning Ordinance was reviewed and the final draft 
was asked to be performed by the April meeting. The commission hopes to set a public 
hearing date in May then send the Ordinance to the Berrien County Planning Commission 
for their approval then present it to the Township Board either in July or August for 
adoption.

Police: Complaints/Citations:  9/12

Industrial Park- Roger Zilke will attend the April meeting to explain the changes and 
answer questions on the Schwark Drain

Clerk Cummings presented the board with a program for managing the cemetery. Jelinek 
questioned the cost and wanted to know if we needed some of the attachments to the 
program. Cummings will get final cost for April meeting.

Berrien County Road Commissions Annual report was received with a notice of a public 
hearing to increase their board members from 3 to 5.

Sittig reported that the Townships matching fund with the county is $11281.25.

The road commission provided a list of roads they suggest we repair at a cost of $12.00 
per ton for a total of $5500.00.
Motion by Jelinek supported by LaLone to repair the suggested roads. Roll call

The Budget for 2008/2009 was discussed.
Motion by Cummings supported by Jelinek to adopt the budget as presented. Motion carried.

No Final Public Comments. 
George Mangold asked about the website updates. Cummings said she would contact the 
person doing the website giving George permission to make any additions or changes 
as needed.

Motion by Jelinek supported by LaLone to adjourn at 8:20. Motion carried
