Three Oaks Township September 13, 2010 Present: Cummings, Sittig, Block, Osburn, Mitchell Public comment: Kevin Kanger asked that the board think long and hard about approving the snowmobile trail as he believes it's too close to the waterway. John Proos introduced himself as the Republican candidate for State Senator Brian Wegner from Williams & Works explained the updates to the Parks & Recreation plan that were requested at the August meeting. Jim Hnilo9 and John Kuntz from the Hartlieb Insurance Company explained the cost changes requested as increasing 2 of the Fire Truck values and also an Accident & Sickness Policy available for volunteer firefighters. Motion by Block supported by Mitchell to increase the truck values with a cost increase of $275.00 per year. Motion carried. Motion by Sittig supported by Cummings to approve the Volunteer Firefighters Insurance Supplement concept on Accident & Sickness Policy and forward it to the Fire Department for their approval. The vote will make a final vote at the October meeting. Mary Dunbar from the Pokagon Fund explained to the board that the Township has $278,000.00 available for a grant(s). As of June 2011 that amount will increase to $323,000.00. The funds need to be used within 5 years. Motion by Mitchell supported by Osburn to approve August 9th meeting minutes. Motion carried. Treasurer's report stands Motion by Block supported by Cummings to pay bills estimated at $36778.62. Motion carried. Motion carried. Proposed parking lot behind hall: the Village presented a bid proposing the Township pay for the work at a cost not to exceed $42,790.25 and the Village will maintain the lot. An Ownership/Maintenance Agreement will be drawn up by the Township Attorney. Motion by Sittig supported by Cummings to adopt the 2010-2011 Millage rates for the Library at 1.5000 and Operations for.7622. Roads were not included due to the renewal vote set for November.
