Fire Advisory Board Meeting May 25, 2004

Meeting called to order at 7:40

Present: Donner, McGuigan, Wooley, Lowery, Sherrill
Absent: None

Minutes from prior meeting stand with correction made to Motion by Sherrill supported by 
McGuigan to reappoint the same officiers to the board instead of members. 

Chief Flick asked to add Scott Miles as new Firefighter to the Department.
Motion by Lowery supported by Sherrill to send request to the Township Board to hire Scott 
Miles pending completion of physical.

Chief Flick asked the board to request the Township Board to approve the payment of $7500.00 
to hire Vander Weele Design Consultants to get costs of design for addition to existing 
station and a new station. 
Motion by Sherrill supported by Donner to request Township Board to approve the funds for 
the designs. Motion carried.
Chief also stated that the cost of a new truck is estimated at $450,000.00

Assistant Chief Zabel suggested that the cost for filling pools be increased due to the 
increase of gas. Presently the charge is $10.00 for first 1000 gallons and $5.00 for each 
1000 gallons after and $10.00 per hour per firefighter.
Motion by Sherrill supported by Donner to add the cost of the fuel to the present charges. 
Motion carried.

McGuigan asked if the cost for fuel in the budget needed to be increased.
It was stated that it had been.

2 bids were received for the 1972 fire truck.
Steve Smith bid 1560.50
Jerry Koebel bid 1940.00
Motion by McGuigan supported by Sherrill to accept the bid from Jerry Koebel. Motion carried.

Wooley asked Chuck Sittig to check with Sharon Witt from Southwestern Economic Growth Alliance 
to see if building a Fire Station on the Industrial Park Property would be in compliance 
with the grant.

Motion by Sherrill supported by Wooley to adjourn.
