Notice is hereby given that a Public Accuracy Test for the electronic equipment that will be used in Precinct 1 for the November 3, 2026, Special Election is scheduled for:

The Public Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate that the computer programming used to tabulate the votes cast at the election meets the requirements of Michigan election law.

THREE OAKS TOWNSHIP — Clerical Notice Correction

⚠️ Why Was the Original Notice Incorrect?

The previously published public notice and Facebook post stating a 3.0602 mill increase and a 473.20% revenue jump contained severe administrative and calculation errors made by the assessing department.

1. Voter-Approved Millages Were Miscounted: Special services (Fire, Ambulance, Library) were wrongly lumped into a general operating tax calculation. Under Michigan law, voter-approved millages are 100% exempt from Truth in Taxation hearing limits.
2. The True Operating Adjustment: The only tax rate subject to a public hearing is the general Allocated Operating millage.
3. Meeting Status: The October 12, 2026 hearing is POSTPONED/TABLED to allow for lawful notice publication and verified math.
